Health and Well-Being Partnership

The Health and Well-Being Partnership is chaired by Mike Dillon, Director of Adult and Children’s Services for Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council.

The Partnership includes the Primary Care Trusts, the Council and a range of other organisations

The Partnership intends to develop and implement a detailed Action Plan to deal with Health and Well-Being issues in the area and has the following aims

  • To improve the health and well-being of the population and reduce health inequalities
  • To establish an integrated, holistic approach to planning, commissioning and delivery of health and social care

The Health and Well-Being Partnership will deliver this agenda by developing strategies to: -

  • Prevent avoidable ill health through public health programmes
  • Reduce health inequalities between communities
  • Promote social inclusion
  • Modernise and integrate a range of health and social care services Meeting some of the more fundamental needs of people and contributing to a healthy life and a caring community
  • Improving the physical, psychological and social well-being in addition to dealing with disease and infirmity
  • Tackling the major contributors to poor health and shorter life expectancy of:
    • Poverty
    • Unemployment
    • Low aspirations
    • Poor quality housing and
    • Risk taking behaviour.
