Regeneration - Environment

The Environment Partnership of the LSP has responsibility for delivering the priorities under the environment theme set out in the Sustainable Community Strategy and Local Area Agreement. This is achieved by co-ordinating, implementing and monitoring a detailed partner led Sustainable Environment Strategy for the Borough, published in July 2006.

The Partnership involves wide-ranging agencies, stakeholders and community representatives and the current list of member organisations can be found below. The environment partnership is currently under review with a new and renewed focus expected in early 2010.

Sustainable Environment Strategy 2006 - 2021

The Sustainable Environment Strategy and Action Plan was developed through intensive consultation with over 280 individuals and organisations during 2005 and 2006 and will be reviewed in 2007 to ensure targets for improvement are being met. The strategy was also based on evidence gathered as part of the State of the Environment Report process. It contains 104 key actions with 32 organisations responsible for delivery.

The strategy can be accessed via the following link:

State of the Environment Reporting

The 'State of the Environment Report' is a joint document between the Environment Partnership and Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council, published every 2 years, which primarily aims to inform the Boroughs Sustainable Environment Strategy by ensuring that up to date, accurate environmental information and commentary is available to provide a basis on which environment actions can be prioritised. The report also aims to enthuse and encourage all sectors to participate in the environment and sustainability debate.
