Sustainable Community Strategy

The boroughs first Sustainable Community Strategy

The Redcar and Cleveland Partnership, with support from the Council, has produced the boroughs first Sustainable Community Strategy following 18 months of extensive stakeholder engagement. We have a vision that;

‘In 2021 we want Redcar and Cleveland to be the place to be, a great place for families to live, a great place to visit, shop and have fun, and a clean green place to work and invest’

It is the principal document that sets out what the boroughs priorities are to enhance the quality of life of our local communities and to improve the long term economic, social and environmental well-being of the Borough and our citizens.

The strategy is based on 14 priority outcomes and 79 associated objectives, and details the tasks to be delivered by all partners including the Council to achieve improvement in those priority areas.

Adoption

The strategy was adopted by the Partnership Board on 20th June 2008, before being adopted into the Councils Policy Framework at Full Council on 18th July 2008.

The strategy is divided into several parts. Part 1 is the strategy document setting out the visions and priorities, and this has an accompanying delivery plan found in part 2. Parts 3 and 4 relate to performance management and link to the Local Area Agreement and Performance Management Framework. A number of annexes are also available.
